Atmos Across America
Many of Astek’s contemporary, artistic wallcovering collections are created in-house by our talented design team. One of our bestselling collections is Atmos, a series of painterly murals inspired by expansive landscapes and horizon lines. With this visual, literal throughline as an anchor, our designers were free to create impressions of a variety of landscapes: misty moors, foggy coastlines, brilliant sunrises and sunsets over fields and forests. These repeating murals evoke a sense of nature and grand vistas without being too literal, which has made them suitable for many different spaces. Homes, hotels, and meeting spaces across the country are now home to members of the Atmos collection. Here are some of our favorites!
Spa Avania
Scottsdale, AZ
Spa Avania, part of the Grand Hyatt Scottsdale resort, is a secluded oasis that feels like anything but the Arizona desert. The spa offers an extensive menu of treatment experiences to help you relax, unwind, and feel your best self, and interiors by RW Purchasing Partners embrace desert hues and natural materials to connect with the locale. Our Vista 10 mural brightens up the spa’s lobby with brilliant orange watercolor, both invigorating and calming– the perfect spa combo.
Atlantic Wharf Fort Point Room
Boston, MA
Atlantic Wharf is Boston's first green skyscraper and was awarded LEED Platinum "Core and Shell" certification. The building contains restaurants, a gallery, and the Fort Point Room meeting space, pictured here, perfect for workshops, seminars, networking events, and more. Astek's Vista 1 mural brightens up the back wall, reflecting the colors and shapes of the landscape-inspired ceiling installation. This mural was printed on our Acoustical material, which is created from post-consumer recycled fibers. Acoustical can contribute to LEED credits in addition to offering sound-dampening capabilities. Win-win!
Heywood Hotel
Austin, TX
The Heywood Hotel boasts seven thoughtfully designed guest rooms and an undeniably Austin stay. The hotel features work by Austin artists, makers, and textile designers throughout, and is located blocks from downtown Austin. Room 4 has a private patio, windows on three sides, and cozy design touches, including a mural from our Atmos collection. Our Vista 11 mural, awash in graceful watercolor, brightens up a feature wall like a desert sunrise, mirroring the natural light coming in through the windows.
Private Residence
Remy Creative’s upscale home interiors are classic and timeless with a modern sensibility. This home is no different, with a podcasting studio set up in style. The artsy vibe (sculptural vases! Color-coded books!) is brought to life with our Vista 20 mural, with its watercolor ink blots depicting a moody forest treeline. The deep green cabinetry brings a grounding force and perfectly matches the mural– we can’t wait to see this mural show up in the background of our next favorite podcast!
Fort Lauderdale Marriott Harbor Beach Resort & Spa
Ft Lauderdale, FL
With custom wallcovering, the sky truly is the limit. In this case, CRA Design opted for a custom version of our bestselling Vista 1 mural: tinted blue with a flipped orientation. The calming, ocean hues of blue, indigo, and lavender complement the other blue accents in the room, not to mention the ocean outside the window. This mural brings so much color to the space, while also allowing the unique custom headboard and light fixtures to shine.
